SAFER-FLOW at Imagine-B5G Open Call #1.

SAFER-FLOW, which stands for Situational Awareness Framework Enabling Robust Emergency Response for Urban Flood Warnings, by OneSource, Consultoria Informática Lda., is one of 15 projects that were selected for the first Open Call of Imagine-B5G.

The project will work to enhance Public Protection and Disaster Response (PPDR) by integrating advanced beyond 5G technologies and applications for handling demanding flooding scenarios. The solution will showcase the effectiveness of the SAFER-FLOW platform and validate the IMAGINE-B5G infrastructure for disaster management events.

The proposed solution will impact IMAGINE-B5G in different ways: 

  • At the management level SAFER-FLOW introduces Ubiwhere IOT Platform with zero-touch management representing a transformative leap in operational efficiency and responsiveness. The impact of zero-touch management is characterised by a substantial reduction in manual tasks and an accelerated shift towards autonomous system operations, improving response times. With the automation of routine tasks, organisations can achieve cost savings through reduced operational expenditures and optimal utilisation of resources;
  • At the societal level the project will play a pivotal role in conducting early evaluations of significant societal impacts related to B5G technology. These assessments will focus on crucial aspects such as safety, security, and energy efficiency, encompassing a diverse array of technologies and verticals;
  • At the technical level IMAGINE-B5G and SAFER-FLOW are positioned to provide direct assistance to solution providers in the validation and improvement of core technologies and architectures, which includes addressing distinct requirements by offering a comprehensive ecosystem of B5G core technologies;
  • Finally, in vertical areas insights gained from the development of business models within the SAFER-FLOW use case will be disseminated to the broader research community. This sharing of lessons learned is anticipated to contribute to scientific advancements and foster additional research in the field.
