ULTRA-FAB5G at Imagine-B5G Open Call #1

ULTRA-FAB5G, which stands forUltra Low Latency M2M communications for 5G enabled Fabrication System, by RIA STONE – FÁBRICA DE LOUÇA DE MESA EM GRÉS, S.A, is one of 15 projects that were selected for the first Open Call of Imagine-B5G. 

The main goal of ULTRA-FAB5G is to assess and validate a comprehensive shop floor-centric private 5G communications network layer by implementing a dependable and secure low-latency 5G communication framework that can effectively replace legacy wired cable systems-based communication networks in the shopfloor.

The proposed solution will impact IMAGINE-B5G in different ways: 

• At the management level ULTRA-FAB5G will increase of the overall shop floor OPE KPI from 92% to 95%; 
• At the societal level the project will increase 50% of the perceived quality of human operator work profiles complying with ONU&OCDE long-term goals. Furthermore, using ULTRA-FAB5G and B5G originated technologies, 100% of the produce introduced in the firing oven will present no defects after 2030, therefore originating no shop floor waste;
• At the technical level it intends to increase in 50% in the introduction of new production techniques supported in B5G Technologies;
• Finally, in vertical areas it looks to increase 10% Prime Matter Reuse improvements achieved through the deployment of new B5G originated technologies in the production lines, after 2030.
